As some of you know been trying to sell my car, I found something odd with it

I just replaced the head gasket and had the head cleaned and leveled.

My radiator hose is building up a lot of pressure. I have let the car be idle for 20 minutues and let the water go out of the system. Bleed the rad, but when I drive normal it's fine, when I hit boost hard, the radiator hose by the water pump shoots off, I always boost hard near where i live so i coast home, but it's driving me crazy. I don't want to sell my car with this shit going on?

I had the radiator fixed a bit ago and pressure checked. It's not leaking just poping off during hard boost.

Anyone know of a easy fix

The radiator works fine, the heater turns on and get hot. The temps are fine, no white smoke, nothing in the oil, and the compression test is good.

Do you have head studs? It sounds like a case of head lift. Just throwing around some ideas.

I have ARP head studs and they are torqued to 70

I have stock clams and the screw clams, both, I can see the radiator start soft and getting hard after it's warmed up.

The gasket has to have about 2 miles on it tops + I know it was installed correctly.

sounds like you are pushing coolant from a leaking head gasket or its boiling and creating high pressure

im surprised your overflow isnt filling up... usually the rad cap will open before hoses pop off. somethings wrong there.

could possibly be your radiator cap, friend had that happen except his made a radiator hose explode, changed the hose and the new one got rock hard, so we threw a new cap on it an everything was peachy, the factory ones supposed to build 1.1 bar but its possible it can get stuck.

Damn I didn't even think about the radiator cap. I agree, look into that because it will cause a high pressure situation. Plus its way easier and cheaper in the end if that is it. It won't hurt to try.

I have a fulized cap, It could be bad, I'll look into that. I really don't think it's the gasket it was just changed.

Well.. If hoses are bursting off before Rad cap lets out the pressure.. It's obvious the Rad cap is the problem. Look into Rad caps.. Then Since you fix it.. It'll probably start to fill up your overflow, and then Overflow out of the overflow, and then you'll be back asking why it's overflowing...

How do you KNOW 100% that your HG was installed properly? Did you make sure those little copper rivets aren't between the sealing surfaces?

I helped with the install and my friend did the meat of the work, he has done over 500 head gaskets. It was coming off the radiator and the radiator itself got big on the sides, I brought the radiator to a shop and they fixed it and pressured tested it. They didn't test the cap tho, It was building pressure before the overflow was getting empty then full after driving.

I'm going to buy a performance caP today or do you think just one at a kargen or autozone will be fine? OEM replacement?

I'd buy one you can return. Check it, then return it. they'll never know :P
If it solves the problem, I'd go ahead and order a higher performance one, it can lower coolant temperatures

If it's not the cap? Could it be the rad itself. It like expended out, but I brought it to a radiator shop (A very good one and he fixed it and psi tested it..I didn't give him the cap tho, so it could very well be the cap. I'm picking up the replacement today, just so busy working 7 days a week.

It's gotta be the cap.. That's the only thing that relieves pressure in the system.

Calcium buildup in the radiator/t-stat housing affecting flow?

Just thinking out loud.
